New Work :) Tribute to Female Musicians AHA!

Alright! Finally I have to some new work to show :) What will it amount to? Who knows...but we'll see where it leads right :)

First of all, the images that I found consist of found images from either the artist websites or from random sites & magazine clippings, but once I found the photos, they were dissected, cut up, re-shaped, colored, etc.

They were completely ripped apart from their original form.

Limit To Your Love

The paintings and the direction for the pieces are all my own...I was definitely driven from the expression and the posing of the portraits that I found... Over all, most of my art is heavily influenced from music (music ranging from different genres)...so it seemed fitting for me to do a mixed media series on my fav female musicians :) I am also heavily driven by color...so if the color seem to strong or visually displeasing or too striking for u...I apologize...That's how I visually translate this days...I am heavily influenced by graffiti so that should answer that...

Choux Pasty Heart

Wikipedia, defines contemporary art as simply art produced in the present and may be of any genre or movement or style.

blah...I don't know what my work is...or how to define it...or even what to call it...it just is...and i'm addicted...

Featured artists in this series:

-Feist
-Emily Haines
-Bjork
-Corrine Bailey Rae
-Janet Jackson
-Erykah Badu
-Amy Winehouse
-KT Tunstall
-Jaguar Wright
-Gwen Stefani

Future: Nina Simone, Imogen Heap, Sabina :)

Inspiration:
-Feist (her presence @ 9:30 club)
-Bjork's (creative force, she's not afraid to be herself)
-Andy Warhol (need I say more)
-Graffiti (life & color, risks)
-Pop art
-Art Nouveau
-Punk Rock
-Jackson Pollock (his weaknesses and strengths)
-The need to produce...
-The need to go back to New Orleans,
-The need to see Mutemath in concert again :)
-The decrease in certain indulgences :)
(except for chocolate chip cookies)
-Mom's Smile...
-Dad's Laugh...
-Wanting to make my friends and God proud :)
